Indo American Doctors’ Association AAPI Aims to Become a Global Healthcare Leader

For a long time now, AAPI or the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin has been carrying out many initiatives for people in America and India who need medical help. The association, which has more than 800 Indo-American doctors as its members, is now determined to make it a global healthcare leader. All the Indo-American doctors from the organization have helped the world fight the war against coronavirus.

Dr. Anupama Gotimukula, who recently became the President of the association, has vowed to strengthen the association’s resolve further and help it grow by leaps and bounds. AAPI has been in existence for more than four decades and is widely recognized as the largest ethnic medical organization in the United States. As the President of AAPI, Dr. Gotimukula says, her aim is to push for implementing major changes in the healthcare system and putting together a healthcare model that proves to be more efficient and accessible for coronavirus patients.

Some of her other priorities are building a support system for individuals suffering from racial discrimination and similar issues in the United States and amplifying the association's legislative efforts towards making healthcare services affordable to patients across all economic groups. Right now, the organization has been focusing on providing help and relief to people affected by Covid-19 and requiring support in India.

Dr. Gotimukula’s journey so far has been quite inspiring. She joined AAPI in the year 2009 as a volunteer and got more involved in its activities by becoming a life member the following year. Her dedicated efforts towards making this association grow resulted in her becoming its President.
